What is TOWSpanish?
The Other Way Spanish is a contemporary online platform and in person classes that were born with the objective of teaching Spanish and promoting continuous knowledge based on the idea that language creates realities. In this way TOWSpanish is also an opportunity to share and see this world in a different perspective while we are learning the language.
Our Principles:
As a Spanish language learning program and Latin-American teachers, we wish to form a communicative context which takes into account:
- Intercultural critique
- Anti-racism
- Feminisms
- Environmental consciousness
- Indigenous world
- views/perspectives
- Being critical
- Anti-discrimination and social inclusion
Therefore, in our exercises, classes, homeworks, and methodology we try to utilize themes such as: feminisms in Latin America and around the world, social movements, anti-discrimination and social inclusion, human rights, amongst others. All of which TOWSpanish promotes the development of critical perspectives and respect for cultural diversity which surrounds us while we are learning Spanish together
